Model de Statut in care autoritatea apartine in mod colectiv intregului grup de prezbiteri/batrîni (3)

In a doua postare  erau prezentare responsabilitatile sau obligatiile prezbiterilor/batrinilor. Mergem mai departe cu „relationship, appointment” and ” term”:

„4. Relationship

We view the specialization of labor among the Elders to be as follows:

1. The Senior Pastor-Teacher will hold an honorary position on the Council of Elder with full privileges and specialize in teaching. The Pastor-Teacher will serve an indefinite term as a member of the Council of Elders as long as he holds this position (see Article X, Pastoral Staff).

2. The other Elders will specialize in equipping the saints based on their spiritual gift(s). The term of office for these Elders will be as defined in the next section.

5. Appointment

The need for an Elder may be recognized by Elders or members of the church body. The Elders, in consultation with or in response to body members, shall seek to discern the nature of the need and to visualize God’s person and means for its fulfillment. After the requirements of the office have been defined, all essential information on this matter will be communicated to the congregation.

The source of new Elders other than the Pastor-Teacher Elder will be from within the church membership. These men shall meet all Scriptural qualifications of an Elder and must be found blameless according to scripture. (I Timothy 3:2; Titus 1:7).

6. Term

Elders (except the Senior Pastor-Teacher) will be elected to a maximum of a three (3) year term of office consistent with their continued desire and ability to serve in this capacity (which must be recognized by other Elders and members of the church body). An Elder may be elected to a second consecutive term of office but will be ineligible for a third term until the lapse of at least one year following the second term. The terms of the member Elders will be staggered such that approximately 1/3 of the positions will conclude each year. Shorter than three-year terms may be used to meet this requ

Model de Statut in care autoritatea apartine in mod colectiv intregului grup de prezbiteri/batrîni (2)

Daca in prima postare avem Criteriile de Calificare a prezbiterilor/batranilor si Autoritaea lor, in aceasta postare facem cunostinta  cu Responsabilitatile lor:

3. Duties

Inherent with the Scriptural authority of Elders over the church body are the clear statements of Scripture concerning self-judgment (I Corinthians 11:31) , subjection to all Christians (I Peter 5:5), and maintaining harmony within the body through gentleness rooted in humility (Galatians 6:1 and II Timothy 2:24-26).

Consistent with these Scriptural statements, the Elders will undertake with joy the duties and responsibilities set forth in the New Testament, such as:

PRAY: Have a consistent personal prayer time. The Elders should devote a significant amount of their time together to pray for the needs of the congregation, for the local community, and the world. Acts 6:4 (Note the prayers of Paul for his people, e.g. Ephesians 1:15-23; Ephesians 3:13-21; Philippians 1:4, 5; Colossians 1:9-14).

BCCC Constitution 6/99 8

STUDY: Have a consistent personal time of study of God’s word and other study material that will help him to grow in accordance with God’s will for him. I Timothy 4:13; II Timothy 2:15; II Timothy 3:16,17.

TEACH: Be ready to teach God’s precepts and admonitions as opportunity presents itself. II Timothy 2:15; Acts 20:28; Hebrews 13:17; I Timothy 3:2.

GUARD: Be on alert for any false doctrine or teaching that may infiltrate the church, and be ready to take action to remove it if found. Acts 20:28.

OVERSEE: Be a shepherd to God’s sheep by example and deed. Each Elder will be assigned members of the congregation and will make themselves available as necessary to meet with or communicate with those in their assigned Elder Care Group. Acts 20:28; I Peter 5:2.

ADMONISH: Be ready to warn of Satanic attacks on both the church and individuals. Acts 20:31.

SUPPORT and RULE the HOUSEHOLD of GOD: Provide for the orderly rule of the local church body. I Timothy 5:17; Hebrews 13:17; Titus 1:9.

DISCIPLINE: Being for the purpose of maintaining the purity of the church and restoration of the individual, discipline will be carried out in an attitude of love and will follow the pattern of Matthew 18:15-17 in matters of:

Difficulties between members (Matthew 18:15-17, I Cor. 5:5, 6).

Disorderly conduct (II Thess. 3:6-15).

Divisiveness (Romans 16:17, 18; Titus 3:9, 10).

Immorality (I Corinthians 5:1-13).

False Teaching (I Timothy 1:20; II Timothy 2:17, 18; Revelation 2: 14, 15, 20).

Wolves in the flock (Acts 20:29).

Elders speaking perverse things (Acts 20:30).

Any accusation against an Elder shall be in accordance with the pattern of I Timothy 5:19, 20.

The Council of Elders can determine other duties and responsibilities as the need(s) arise.
