10 Ways to Be Missional With Your Holidays

„It’s that time of year again! The weather is cooling off, final exams are approaching, and you can’t get away from Pumpkin Spice Lattes or Peppermint Mochas. With the holiday season come many fun traditions and events that can leave even the most laidback college student overwhelmed with busyness and their bank accounts emptier than they were before. Because of all of these things, many Christians struggle to keep their focus on Christ during the holidays, even though His birth – the arrival of the long-awaited messiah – is actually the foundation of Christmas!

During a season that is meant to bring glory to God and allow Christians to give back to others through service and generosity, why not also be intentional to be missional? Here are ten fun, easy ways to live missionally during the holiday season and during your winter break!

1.     INVITE AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT HOME WITH YOU FOR THE HOLIDAYS.

2. SEND HOLIDAY CHEER TO OVERSEAS MISSIONARIES.

3. USE YOUR CHRISTMAS BREAK TO GO ON A MISSION TRIP…” TheTravelingTeam

„The Great Commission Becomes the Great Omission”

„As I looked at the deaths of fourteen churches, I saw a common pattern. Obedience to the Great Commission faded; it usually faded gradually…”

„It was like the slow erosion described in chapter. The efforts at obedience to the Great Commission faded gradually, so that no one noticed. Or if someone did notice, he or she was largely ignored. The more vocal members usually left the church. The comfortable members remained behind for the deathwatch…”

„But here’s the bigger issue . Even if the church began to grow on its own, the members of the dying church would only accept the growth if the new members were like them and if the church would continue to „do church” the way they wanted it…”

Leonard Semenea :” Will we do the task? We will be faithful and doing what Jesus Christ is called us to do?”

” … It is impossible to understand The Great Commission without to understand the context of the  Great Commission.  Many times we take this text and we never realize what actually meant for the apostles and what phase of their faith and what phase of their life they were. The Great Commission of our text …ask them to actually take what they had  learn in the past three in the half years, take their experiences, take their theology , take everything that they had see Jesus Christ do in a very small and remote part of the world. That meant nothing to anybody and exported , exported first in Jerusalem . Their after in Judea , in Samaria and to the ends of the earth. They were faithful in exporting the Gospel…That generation, dear  friends did his job. It’s our turn now…Will we  do the task? We will be faithful and doing what Jesus Christ is called us to do?”
